Austin native Robert Prosser grew up with a deep reverence for the Hill Country.
From an early age, visiting his great uncle's Friday Mountain Ranch he was
fascinated by the limestone bluffs, caves and rock formations carved by Bear
Creek. He later spent much time on a sprawling ranch on Barton Creek, alive with
sparkling artesian fed creeks, and waterfalls.
In high school his ink sketches of it's brooding limestone bluffs, rock
formations and falling waters were displayed in art exhibits. Inadvertently, he
had began his career as a master designer.
After high school Robert worked with local masons learning to cut and lay
limestone and in 1975 helped build the Spanish ruins entryway to Lost Creek
subdivision which was once the Barton Creek ranch where he had spent so much
time. Later, he went into business designing and creating natural Hill Country
hardscapes as well as masonry projects that show a strong southwest influence.
It was when he began building highly detailed water and hardscapes that his
design talents merged with his masonry skills. In the late eighties he
apprenticed under a long-time pool builder to learn the technology that goes
into building swimming pools and with a drive fueled from images from the past,
he was then able to replicate actual full size waterfall swimming holes.
Clearly, not another pool builder that later realized a side market attaching
waterfeatures to pools, Robert approached pool building from the opposite
direction, that is enlarging studio quality waterscapes into luxury pools. In
essence the entire pool is a waterfeature. Instead of a high volume pool company
whose primary goal and success are measured by having as many projects going at
once, SWCP builds projects one at a time with each project getting the companies
full focus and attention.
Brought in by some of Austin's most prominent architectural firms, commercial
developers and residential clients, Robert has earned a reputation of designing
and turning otherwise challenging terrain into award winning showplaces.
Whether a commercial development, a residential estate with pool with hardscape
/ landscaping destined for an AIA Tour or a homeowner's private retreat, each
work is done with the same artistic pride and commitment to quality and detail.
From the initial concept through master plan each project serves to enhance the
beauty of the property while creating a harmonious living environment.
